TAPIOCA – Intelligent Transportation Systems

    TAPIOCA (distribuTed and AdaPtive IntersectiOns Control Algorithm) is a distributed algorithm that define the green light sequences and durations in an urban intelligent transportation system (ITS). TAPIOCA relies on data gathered by a hierarchical wireless sensor and actuator network deployed at intersections to decide locally of an intersection schedule and to synchronize adjacent intersections to create green waves.
